A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules (Brick Red), between a winged wheel and a test tube Or, a bend of the like charged with an armored carrier track tread Azure. Attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed EL FUTURO ES HOY in Blue letters.
Brick red and golden yellow are the colors used for the Transportation Corps. The track tread alludes to armor protected carriers and the color blue refers to the Infantry. The winged wheel, an element of the Transportation insignia, represents the tactical and speedy mobility the unit provides in support. The test tube is symbolic of the experimentation for the development of future concepts of organization and operations as the Transportation Corps looks to the future. The motto translates to The Future is Today.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 24 January 1961.
